Lana's Author Appearance

Lana Laws Downing, author of Jon Teel, T-Garçon of Grand Isle, and Grand Isle Farewell, is a retired educator who lives and writes in Franklin, Louisiana.  Lana writes about the people and places she knows best, South Louisianians. Occasionally, Lana will send through wonderful images of book appearances she has organized.  She is confidence, driven, and focused and an example of someone who views self-publishing, as no different than mainstream publishing.  For Lana, there are no barriers and no limitations on possibilities for her literary career. 

Without an agent, Lana continues to self-market her book to a wide audience and engages with her fans and readers with pride and confidence, informing them of her journey as a writer, which really helps her readers connect with her on a personal level.  Authors like Lana are leading the way in the industry, collectively proving that progress can be made without traditional expectations, progressively making those once locked doors, open wider for those who follow.
